EOTC activity tasks

Hi guys and welcome back to another blog post. Today I will be talking about what we will be doing next week for EOTC week which meant that I had to pick one task from each slide from each activity such as going to jellie park, adrenalin forest, and also going into the Christchurch city center. I have made a slideshow about the tasks that I had done.

Living on mars

Hi guys and welcome back to another blog post for this year. Today I will be talking about what I have been doing in the writing part of science. I finished this last week but didn't really get a chance to blog about it. It has a couple of questions about a story that I had read about a woman named Haritina Mogosanu and what it would be like to be able to live on Mars.

What happens at the Mars desert research center?/Summarise

People who were there had to wear spacesuits and helmets when they went outside. Also,

six-person crews stay at the station to learn about what it would be like to live and also to work

on the planet Mars. They spent their time studying geology, biology, and astronomy and also

learning about the challenges of living in a small cramped space with a bunch of other people.

What did Haritina find difficult about being at the research center? Why?

It was difficult because you were there 24/7 and it's a completely different environment.

Also because sometimes it felt scary being in such an unfamiliar place.

Why do you think it is important for astronauts to practice in an environment like this

before heading to space?

Because then they can get used to an environment that they are not used to yet like being in

spacesuits and floating in the spacecraft and also when they would land on mars they can get

used to the different environments that are there.

Christchurch 2011 earthquakes

Hi guys and welcome back to another blog. Today I will be talking about the earthquake that happened here in Christchurch in the year 2011. I have made a slideshow about it and would like to show it to you. The slideshow that I am going to provide for you includes some information about what happened on that day and how people coped with it.

The information that was in this slideshow came from many different articles and websites that I had read to collect my information.

Communication in space

Hi guys and welcome back to another blog. Today I will be talking about communication in space. So in hurumanu 3, we have been learning how to communicate in space and the way we did it was one person went down to the end of the field and another person would stay at the other end. There were a couple ways of communicating with each other and one of those was by using flags or pieces of paper called flag signals to form them into the shape of one of the letters like here.

These were the signals that we had to create for the flag signals by using pieces of paper. This is what I and my partner used to communicate with each other but the outcome wasn't how we expected it to be.

Navigation in space

We also did a challenge where you put a blindfold over your eyes and put back on your head. You would then have to use your senses without using your eyes/sight. We went over the Kyle Park to do this because our field was being occupied and we had to try and navigate ourselves to a particular tree that the teacher had chosen.

Magnet

A magnet is simply rock or a piece of metal that can pull certain types of metal toward itself. The force of magnets is called magnetism which is a basic force of nature just like electricity and gravity. Magnetism works over a distance so this means that a magnet does not have to be touching an object to pull it towards itself.

Protests

Hi guys and welcome back to another blog. Today I will be talking about protests that have happened around New Zealand and how/what changed when these protests happened. I have made a slide about Protests and about what protest I choose to look into. The protest that I choose to look more into was women's suffrage and if you don't know what that means. Women's suffrage means the right for women to be able to vote in elections.

On 19 September 1893, the election act 1893 was passed giving all women in New Zealand the right to vote in elections, and as a result of this landmark, New Zealand became the first self-governing country in the world in which all women had the right to vote in parliamentary elections.

Here is the sideshow about protests... it does also has a glossary about words that I'm not quite sure of yet.

So there was also a whole heap of other protests but I choose to support the women's suffrage protest. The book that we read was called ' Stand up,  history of protest in New Zealand' By Dylan Owen.

Day light savings

Hi guys and welcome back to another blog post. Today I will be talking about day light savings in a document.

Research and answer the following questions about Daylight Saving NZ in a blog post

  1. When does Daylight Saving happen each year in New Zealand?

Sunday 27 September - Sunday 4 April

  1. What year did it start in NZ?

1927

  1. Why was Daylight Saving started? Write at least 2 sentences to answer this question.

The main reason is to make better use of daylight during the spring and summer months, so there is an extra hour of sunlight in the evening instead of the morning.

  1. Read the following article and write a paragraph (3-8 sentences) on whether or not you think that Daylight Saving should continue in New Zealand.

By allowing more people to come home during daylight hours, permanent daylight savings could decrease the risk of car accidents which means saving more than 360 lives each year. What's more, making year-round daylight savings and having fewer hours of darkness could help reduce crime

https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/107348361/times-up-should-we-end-daylight-saving-in-new-zealand

  1. Do all the states in Australia have Daylight Saving? Who does and who doesn’t?

New south wales, victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, the queen capital territory, and Norfolks island.

  1. Write 3 tips to help others adjust to Daylight Saving.

Stick to your schedule. Be consistent with eating, social, bed, and exercise times during the transition to Daylight Saving Time.

Don't take long naps

Avoid coffee and alcohol.

  1. Show your completed work to the teacher and post it on your blog.

Science

Hi guys and welcome back to another blog. Today I will be talking about what we have been doing in the writing part of science. We have been writing about the solar system.

Here is a doc of what I did

  • What is a solar system - A solar system is a collection of eight planets and their moons that orbits around the sun. The planets in our solar system are in order first starting off with Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune also in order of distance from the sun. The solar system consists of stars and planets like the sun and everything that revolves around it. This also includes comets and asteroids. Dwarf planets and other small icy objects.

  • What is a Milky way - The Milky way is a large barred spiral galaxy and all the stars that you see at night time are in our galaxy called the Milky way galaxy. The milky way is made up of approximately 100 billion stars including our sun. The Milky Way is the galaxy in which we live. The Milky Way does not sit still. It is constantly rotating around and the sun and the solar system travel with them.

  • What is a star - A star is a giant luminous ball of gas which is made out of hydrogen and helium which is held together by its own gravity and nuclear fusion reactions in its core help support the star against gravity and produce photons and heat as well as some small amounts of heavier elements. Stars produce their own light and heat produced by their cores inside of them.

  • Describe a Nebula - A nebula is an enormous cloud of gas and dust. It occupies the space between stars and acts like a nursery for stars. A cloud of gas and dust in outer space which is visible in the night sky either as an indistinct bright patch or as a dark silhouette against other luminous matter.

  • How does a star die - Most stars take millions of years to die and when a star like a sun has burned all of its hydrogen fuel  it then expands to become a red giant and after puffing off its outer layers the star then starts to collapse to form a very dense white dwarf and when the helium fuel runs out the core will expand and cool. The upper layers will expand and eject material that will collect around the dying star to form a planetary nebula and then finally the core will cool down into a white dwarf and then eventually into a black dwarf.

  • Is there an up or down in space - There is an up and down in space? Down is simply the direction gravity is pulling you  and up is just the opposite direction and since there is gravity everywhere in space there is also an up and down everywhere in space. If you are in space and the earth is the nearest object you would obviously fall towards the earth.

  • Can we use the stars to navigate - By observing the position of the stars that are in the sky you can find your way by using them. Star navigation has been used by seafarers for centuries and is a useful skill for any boater to know so the answer is yes. You can use stars to navigate.

Parihaka

Hi guys and welcome back to another blog. Today I will be talking about parihaka and what happened during those times. I have made a document to show you.

Here it is.

What events lead up to Parihaka being established?

The Parihaka settlement was found around the year 1866. At the close of the Second Taranaki War and a year after almost all of the Maori's land had been taken away in Taranaki and the Maori were punished by the government.

What were the ideas behind setting up Parihaka?

The ideas behind setting up Parihaka were to make peaceful resistance. Te whiti and tohu were from the Taranaki region. This was created by the Parihaka settlement in the reflection of their Christian values. Also to live with the freedom to act independently from the government. This reinforced the idea that Maori were independent people and had the same equal rights as the European settlers did.

Who established parihaka?

Te Whiti-o-Rongomai and Tohu Kakahi had established the community of parihaka in the shadow of Mt Taranaki in 1866 and during the 1870s parihaka had become the largest Maori settlement in the country at the time.

Where is parihaka located?

Parihaka is located between the Tasman Sea and Mount Taranaki up in the north island of New Zealand. Parihaka is part of the community in the Taranaki region in New Zealand.

Parihaka | Christchurch City Libraries

When did the invasion of parihaka occur?

The invasion of parihaka occurred on the 5th of November 1881.

How do you think the people of parihaka were feeling when the troops entered their village?

From the text that I have been reading, I think that the people of parihaka felt nervous. Well, the children mainly and also I think they also felt maybe confused and neglected by people like the British government. Also maybe when they were being sent to prison in the south island when all the men were being sent down there maybe they felt like outcasts from everyone else.

Do you think stories about the events of 5th November 1881 were reported on by the media at the time?

I don't think so. Parihaka was a small Taranaki settlement with a big history. It really depends but I don't think it was reported to the media at that time. Maybe soon after it happened.

How long were Tohu and Te whiti imprisoned? Where? What did they intend to do when they returned to parihaka?

Tohu and Te Whiti were imprisoned for six months. They were imprisoned down south in Addington jail awaiting trial. When they returned back to parihaka their aim was to resist the invasion of their land and also to protect Maori independence. They then made good relationships between all races as long as Maori ownership and independence was respected.

What was the impact on Maori when the New Zealand company and other representatives of “The crown” confiscated or purchased land very cheaply for Maori? What happened to the Maori that lost their land? Where and how did they live?

The impact was pretty huge because they were selling their land/land was getting taken for a very cheap price and they then had nowhere else to go except for a small Taranaki settlement behind Mount Taranaki called parihaka.

How do you think the New Zealand wars impacted on iwi and groups of people who were no longer able to live on their Whenua?

The impact was pretty huge because they were selling their land/land was getting taken for a very cheap price. People would have had a hard time living back then when the wars impacted iwi and groups.

What does the word PEACE mean to you? What is "passive resistance? What does the phrase mean?

The word peace means to me a quiet safe haven. A safe place for all and freedom. Passive resistance is non-violent resistance.

What other ways are there to solve major issues between people/countries that do not use violence as a way of controlling others or solving problems?

You could make agreements on something or make a treaty.

Who are some of the other world leaders who have used passive resistance? What was their cause and how is it peaceful?

Jacinda Arden when the mosque shooting happened. She didn't say the shooter's name so that they didn't get their fame that they may have wanted.

Gold rush

Goldrush

Something that we did yesterday was watcha video called hunters gold and another video-based in shantytown in Greymouth. It showed us how people used to mine for gold. I don't know much about this so I will add to this. ( Gold mining or Discrimination )

Ok so now that I know something more about gold mining and discrimination let me explain.

Gold mining was something that people used to do around 1852. People from all over the world came to New Zealand to mine for gold. People used metal pans and put the pan underwater collecting dirt from the bottom of it. They then shook the pan to get all of the water and dirt and the stone and usually there would be gold at the bottom of the pan. A few years later big machines were made called sluices which could take down whole mountain slides. Using a pan was then forgotten.

Discrimination is when someone judges you by the way you look, your race, your religion, gender, age, disability, etc. This came in when the Chinese people came to Nz. Most of the Chinese people couldn't speak English and prefered to have their houses built away from all the other miners. They did often have their own shops run by their own people. Some Chinese miners were rewarded gold while others were left poor and far away from a home they would never see again.

Market day

Hi guys and welcome back to another blog post for this week. Today I am going to tell you a little bit about Market day and what we did, what we made, and how well it worked out.

So for Market Day, we made tie-dye. We tie-dyed t-shirts and socks. The people that were in my group were Khaylanie, AJ, and I. We had to make a poster for our company so that on the day people would know our name and hopefully tell people about it and bring more people. Some of our tie-dye we had done the day before and they needed to dry once we rinsed them under the sink. We then had to let them dry outside. On the day we had a small table with a big poster. The socks sold out really fast. Some of the t-shirts we had reserved for some people because they had already been bought but were still wet from when we rinsed them because they didn't get that long to dry.

Something that I really enjoyed about market day was that there were heaps and heaps of different food stands. Some of the stands I went to were really good and some of them were a bit off for me and I didn't really enjoy it as much. Another thing that I really enjoyed was the music that was playing. It was actually really nice to have music playing on a hot day. One last thing that I enjoyed was actually going around the stalls and looking at what people had made. It was really interesting to see what people had an interest in and to see what they had made.

Some things that I didn't enjoy was the heat. It was a really hot day in which we had to sit out or stand in the sun. Our stand didn't have chairs so we had to sit on the fake grass in the sun. Another thing that I didn't enjoy was how some of the schools arrived late so we didn't get to sell our product for half of that time. One more thing that I didn't enjoy was how Aj was in our group but she was never at the stand. She was only there for a couple minutes and she left for the rest of it. I was actually really annoyed about this because she was part of our group and didn't do anything.

A thing I would like to change is practically everything. Our group. Well, one person from it and what we were selling. Next time Khaylanie and I were thinking to make food this time instead of a materialized product like tie-dyed shirts and socks.

The amount that everything cost for our t-shirts was $30. All of the other things Khaylanie and I already had at home. Aj didn't even bother to get anything for our business. This is something that also annoyed me because all she did was do the tie-dye. The amount of money that we actually made was $60 dollars and something cents. I think that our total profit was $28.

Market day was not what I expected but it was really interesting. I can't wait until next year to make something new.

Te whare tapa wha

Hi guys and welcome back to another blog. Today I am going to talk about mental health awareness and what you can do to help with these. There are 4 types of wellbeing to this. Spiritual, Physical, family, and social and mental and emotional. The first one that we are going to talk about is physical wellbeing.

  • Physical well being - you could go for a run or do some exercise. Maybe you could also eat something and have a nap. Drink some more water to stay more hydrated. These are just a few of the many things that you could do to boost your physical wellbeing.
  • Spiritual well being - you could do some yoga or read a book. Take a nap in the sun or look at the clouds outside. Maybe do some meditation and listen to your favourite music or some nice calm soothing music. These are also just a few of the thing that you could do to stay spiritual.
  • Family and social - you could do some baking with your parents and or siblings or maybe have a family game night. Maybe you could make a family tik tok and post it. Any of these you could do with many more to list. Have a go and have fun while it lasts.
  • Mental and emotional - you could maybe write down your emotions in a book or maybe your diary. Maybe read a book to calm you down or listen to some music. Be aware of your emotions and how you/they act. Think before you do something. Express your feelings in appropriate ways. Maybe next time you need to calm down do some of these things.

I hope some of these helped you.

Healthy lifestyles

Hi guys and welcome back to another blog post. Today in health we had to write a four coarse meal for the day. Breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner. We had to write this onto a document. the 4 main groups of food we had to include were Fruit and veggies, grain foods, dairy products, and legumes. We had to write a plan for all of them including all of these food groups.

Here is the document of my plan.

Your Task: Create a meal plan for 1 day that includes all the necessary amounts for each of the 4 Food Groups

Vegetables + Fruit - at least 3 servings of veggies and 2 servings of fruit every day

Grain foods - 6 servings each day (check portion sizes)

Milk/Milk products - 2 servings

Legumes/Nuts/Seeds/Fish/Seafood/Eggs/Poultry/Meat etc. - 2 servings

When you have created your meal plan, please highlight each food based on the colors provided above. This will help us clearly see where each of the food groups has fit in. Remember, you want each meal to be a balanced plate.

Bonus research: how many glasses of water should we have each day? Fit this into your meal plan.

Breakfast

Porridge,milk,banana,sugar, muesli

Lunch

Bread, boiled egg, orange, a glass of milk

Snack

Muesli bar, strawberries, a pottle of yogurt, oats

Dinner

Steak, glass of milk,  spinach, chia seeds

Water

How many servings per day? __________8__cups___________

How do you think you could fit these in besides just at meal times?

  •    breakfast

  •   snack

  • lunch

Heroes and Villians

Hi guys and welcome back to another blog. Today I have just finished a long story. You don't have to read it all because I know I wouldn't. I really gave up at the end. Uhh, I don't know if I'm proud of it or not but I spent ages on it. 14 paragraphs. I also had to take a photo about some drawings that we did.

You know, it was just an ordinary day. The sun was gleaming, the breeze blowing and the white marshmallow clouds above. Everything was going fine until drama happened. The quiet kid 17 yrs old named Pedro with brown tousled hair, with a fashion style from the 90s. He has dark brown freckles and bright blue eyes. Bushy eyebrows and a tall slim body. Standing in the corner of a building trying to mind his own business. A girl named Sadie with bright orange hair and green eyes. Big plumpy lips and small, thin eyebrows. She who bullied him since kindergarten saw him so she came over and started to judge what he wore and what he looked like by touching his clothes and spilling water on them. She yelled mean and horrible words at him that made him more depressed than he already was. He cried in the corner once she left.  Sadie laughed as she walked away from the scene. People all around gathered to see why he was crying. He just ran away with embarrassment while people yelled crybaby and loser at him. He hid behind a dumpster ashamed.

Since kindergarten, he had hated Sadie and thought of doing something to her. He never really knew what he should do to her but hiding behind the dumpster it gave him an idea of what to do to her. He thought about kidnapping her while she stayed at school finishing off some work while everyone else had gone home. Obviously, he had to wait a couple weeks to do this because he had to wait everyday to see what time the teachers would head home and what days had sports on after and to watch Sadies every move. He obviously had to be careful not to get caught by anyone and or tell anyone about his plan or he could get suspended from school so he kept quiet.

The following week he ignored everyone and headed to class. Sadie was at the door waiting for him to enter. She went in front of the door and pushed Pedro's chest, making him fall on the person behind him. She walked up to him and asked him “ Why have you been ignoring me. Can't believe someone as pretty as me is bullying you”. He paused as she spoke. She asked him again “ Why have u been ignoring me”. He hesitated to speak to her and pushed past her into the classroom, her back hitting the sides of the walls. She looked at him with snake eyes while he took a seat. Not paying attention to the teacher he went over his plan. Making everything was right. At the end of the day wait until everyone leaves the school including the teachers. Sneak into the classroom that Sadie was quietly working in, throw her in a bag and sneak her into his van through the back of the van. Simple. Right?

The class ended and everyone was heading out to lunch when he got tapped on the shoulder. The teacher was behind him looking at him from head to toe and then asked if anything was wrong. “No” he replied quickly. The teacher stared at him trying to make out his face features trying to tell if he was lying or not. Pedro then got very nervous and asked if he was dismissed from the classroom. The teacher nodded slowly but reassuringly. He stepped out of the classroom making his way behind the dumpster looking back to see if anyone was watching or following him. There was one more period until the end of the day and until he could start his “ Master plan ” by kidnapping Sadie. A couple kids came around the dumpster shouting and yelling but Pedro wasn’t really listening. He was just making sure they didn’t look behind. They left once the bell rang so he got up and made his way to his next class. Woodtech.

He entered the building and headed down to the wood tech area where he was once again met by you know who. Sadie. It looked like she was really mad being pushed into the wall because her face was red like a tomato and her teeth gritted as they scratched along each other. He knew she wasn't going to do anything so he walked right past her. As he walked into class he saw lots of tools/equipment that could maybe help him. While the teacher wasn’t looking he stole some rope, tape, and a bag. He shoved them into his school-bag and went back over with everyone else trying not to look suspicious. Finally!  The day had ended. Pedro was nervous about what he was going to do and was thinking if this really was the right thing to do. Kidnap Sadie and not tell anyone. He would just have to wait and see.

Kids were flowing out the gate who knows how many at a time rushing off home or to the mall. He hid behind the dumpster again until EVERYONE had left except for Sadie and the janitors. Pedro then got up, grabbed his bag with the rope, tape, and bag inside of it. He slithered like a serpent into the building sadie was in. Quickly opened the door and shut it. The door creaked a little but didn’t catch sadie’s attention. He crept into the science room and hid under one of the tables. The table wobbled as Pedro tried to fit under. Luckily he made it under before Sadie turned around. He was breathing heavily as she got up and walked around the room looking for a liquid or solid to put into her project. He couldn’t get a glimpse of what her experiment was but it smelled rotten just like her breath. Sadie stopped walking for a moment. ‘Sighed’ and left the room. Pedro got this as a chance to follow her. He got out from under the table and left the room too, silently making his way toward her but keeping a distance between them.

Sadie was walking toward the toilets. Pedro guessed she had to do her business. He was thinking too much about HOW exactly he was going to kidnap her that he bumped into a wall with glass jars making some of the jars of glass smash onto the ground creating a loud smashing sound. Sadie looked back as she saw Pedro following her. She saw a vicious grin cross his face as they looked at each other. She was confused at first. Pedro paused for a moment and then realized he had to run too to catch up to her. They ran all over the building smashing and breaking things. Throwing items at each other. Sadie ran into the cooking room. Pedro followed behind her, locking the door. Sadie stopped in her path as she heard the door ‘click’. She turned around slowly while Pedro got the tape and rope out. She tried to open a window. She managed to but she couldn’t fit. The window didn’t open out wide enough for her to fit through.

Pedro walked slowly toward her grinning. Sadie tried to push one of the tables onto him but they were screwed onto the cold hard concrete floor. Sadie then opened a drawer behind her and pulled out some tongs. She tried to snip them at him but lost grip when she opened them. Pedro then grabbed hold of her and pushed her onto the ground making her black-out. He wrapped her up with the rope and taped her mouth shut with multiple pieces of tape. He then tried to fit her into the bag but she couldn’t fit because he didn't check how big the bag was when he grabbed it so he carried her out of the building and out to his van. He threw her in there not thinking ‘should I really do this...yes’. No one will ever know about this. Maybe I'll just keep her and abandon her in a forest or somewhere like that.

Driving along a narrow steep road with cars passing by. Pedro was wondering when she was gonna wake up because his windows weren’t blacked so anyone could easily see her so he had to be cautious. He started to pick up speed in an 80km zone passing cars more frequently. A couple minutes passed and Sadie began to wake up with a pounding headache. Her vision blurred as she tried to sit up straight. Pedro was heading for a bumpy road which meant that Sadie would be thrown across the back of the van but the thing is she didn't know that so once they hit the road she was ofc thrown around the back. Pedro made a stop and looked behind. Sadie quickly closed her eyes. She could sense that he was still watching her. A couple seconds passed and the vehicle started to move again at a pace of around 50km. Sadie slowly opened her eyes again adjusting to the light once again but she slowly closed them again wondering what was going to happen.

The vehicle came to a halt as a car door opened and shut slamming as it did so. Gravel crunching under big hiking boots. The clouds turned grey like big giant tears. The back door of the van opened, Sadie being dragged out and carried on Pedro's shoulder. Her head swaying side to side. Pedro kicked a wooden door open making a loud ‘CrAsH’ sound, wood falling to the floor just like the teardrops falling from the sky. Water falling from the ceiling from small open holes. He carried her into a dark, gloomy room where only a bed, a desk, and a chair stood silently. He dumped her onto the bed and walked out slamming and locking the door behind. She opened her eyes and tried to get the tape off of her mouth. It took a couple tries but she finally got it off. She tried to scream but if she did Pedro would most possibly come in here. She tried to use the chair to cut the rope. That didn't work. She tried to use the bed but that didn’t work either. Sadie knew that the draws wouldn’t work so she gave up. She sat on the bed and cried thinking about what she did to deserve this.

Hours past and she started to get hungry. Her tummy rumbling loudly. She went to the door and yelled “ ArE yOu GoNnA fEeD mE”

No reply.  She yelled again “ ArE yOu GoNnA fEeD mE”

Again. No reply. She yelled for the last time “ ArE yOu GoNnA fEeD mE”

Footsteps were following on the hard, wooden floor. The lock fell to the ground as keys jingled. The door opened and a plate of mashed potatoes and lamb slid across the floor.

“ I ain't giving you any cutlery tho”

She was fine with that. She was just grateful that she got food. She scoffed the food into her mouth devouring every bite. Sadies mouth watered. Pedro shut the door behind and locked it again. Slowly after she had eaten, she began to grow tired. She threw herself onto the bed and slowly began to daze off into a deep sleep.

The lock fell to the ground. The door slowly opened, creaking as it did. Boots tramping on the wooden floor as it came to a halt. Sadie slowly opened her eyes trying to adjust to the dim light that shone from a small little lamp. Pedro opened his mouth but before he could say anything Sadie opened hers and asked in a booming voice “ WHY HAVE YOU DONE THIS”

He went to speak but was once again interrupted “ WHY DID U DO THIS. WHAT HAVE I EVER DONE TO YOU TO DESERVE THIS”

“YOU KNOW EXACTLY What you did”

His eyes watered. Sadie is confused about this. She asked him “ What have I done. Hmm. Tell me”

“ It's all your fault. It’s all your fault. Starting from the first day of kindergarten. You pushed me off the slide. You tripped me over and I grazed myself. All the kids laughed at me. Primary. U made me poop myself in class and told everyone I ate it”

Sadie went to open her mouth but was shut off again.

“ Highschool” He took a deep breath as he spoke “ U really had to touch and pour water over my clothes and embarrass me. U humiliated me since the first day of high school and it hasn’t even been halfway through the year. What have I ever done to you to make you do this to me? Tell me”

Awkward silence crossed the room as you could hear the echoes of pain from Pedro's voice. He was hurt. Sadie spoke softly “ I'm sorry I did those things to you. I'm sorry. I promise you I will never do it again. If you could just let me out. I won't tell anyone about this I-”

“NO. Why would you think I would let you out. You have the biggest mouth in the entire school. I don't understand why you would ask that ‘stupid’”

He stood up walking towards the door. “Maybe you should have stopped being such a bully to me. Maybe i would never have done this”

The door slammed and locked again.

Days passed by. Weeks maybe. It was the same thing over and over again. Wake up. Be fed. Go to sleep. Boring right…. Right.

The following day when Pedro came in to give Sadie food, he actually comes in. Surprising right. He was on the phone with someone. She didn't know who but it kind of sounded like her uncle. Machu Picchu. (he's Mexican). He was talking about what they were gonna do with her except when Pedro said her name he said, Mikayla. She was really confused about this and thought maybe there was another girl in the house that she didn’t know of. Pedro than came and sat on the bed and said “someone is going to pick you up later. Take you to another state. Not somewhere nice tho. You don’t deserve it”

Confused about this she asked “ who exactly is going to pick me up”

“You’ll find out in time,” He said as he left the room.

She was about to go to sleep until she noticed something on the bed. ‘A phone’ she asked herself. She went over and picked it up. A smile crossed her face as she realized it was. She went to unlock the phone and lucky for her the phone didn’t have a passcode. She went into his contacts and found one she recognized easily. Machu Picchu. Her uncle. She asked herself as to why Pedro had her uncle's phone number. She rang it. He answered. “ Pedro. Why are u calling me? We literally just talked I-”

“ Hi, uncle. It's Sadie and uhhh Pedro kinda kidnapped me”

Sadies uncle thought she was joking about this. “ He what. You the one I'm meant to be picking up and moving to another state. Oml. Uhh send me the address rn”

She sent the address and he was on his way. About half an hour later a knock on the door came and a short plump man came in. Pedro unlocked the door where Sadie was and acted like they didn't know each other. He then took her away back home and she then kept quiet.
