Aerodynamic

Aerodynamic

Definition:
The study of the properties of moving air and the interaction between the air and solid bodies moving threw it
4 forces of flight:

  1.   Gravity
  2.   Thrust
  3.   Lift
  4.   Drag

Paper Plane:

Material:

1. Paper
2. Paper clip

Steps:

1. Get an A4 paper and fold in half and then open it up again

2. Make sure that it doesn't look like a mountain/fold the top two corners making a triangle folding it onto the middle line

3. After you fold the top corners down you than need to make a envolope shape folding it down.

Findings: That different ways to throw it changes the way it will fly and also when you try a different type of like plane/ like if you cut it or put paper clip on it, it was change how it flies.

Plane Type
Distance
Behaviour
Normal
1.0Swoop
Ailerons
1.2Swoop
Paper clips
3.8
Swoop

Conclusion: When we flew the normal plane it went a distance 1.0m. When we flew the plane with the Ailerons on it went a distance 1.2m. When we flew the plane we the paper clip on it went a distance of 3.8m.
They all swooped. None of them went straight

Highlight this term

Highlight this term

Hi guys and welcome back to another blog post for this year. Today I will be talking about about the best highlight this term. I have really enjoyed this term. It has been the best right.

My favourite highlight for this year must be being the first one in my reading group to finish off everything. The task board, the practice on the task board, my personal response on the book we are reading called tohunga. If you don't know what a tohunga is you can say it when you comment down so that I can blog about it. Back to my highlight. I have filled my book with pages of finished work. I am really proud of what I have done this term.

Here are some photos of the pages that are done and one page that I am working on. The reason I will have one page not finished is because I am just doing it for fun and because I don't want to be the one that just sits at a table doing nothing since I finished everything.

You can't see this well enough to read but by looking at it you can tell how much I have done.
This one I haven't got a lot of work on because this is a page that I was working on with my teacher.
This one is my personal response one that i had to do.
I have got two more pages + photos left.
The one after this one is the last page and it is the one that I am working on on what a tohunga is.
This one is the one that I am working on.

I am ahead of everybody in my group and group and proud of it. I am aiming for my best at this school and hoping to get all of my work finished on time like the work that I am doing now but for it  I finished earlier than the people in my group.

Please comment and give feedback on my work.
Thank you
Have a good day.

How to make slime

How to make slime

Hi guys and welcome back to another blog post for this year. Today I will be talking about slime and how to make it. It is really easy to make and super fun to play with.

Steps to making a perfect slime

  1. Get a bowl
  2. Get some glue
  3. Pour the glue into your bowl
  4. Once you have done that add in some shaving cream/The stuff that men use to shave there face.
  5. Start mixing
  6. Add in your activator and start mixing again.
  7. Watch your slime form

Once it is formed you can start playing with it and add in any colour and any extras that you want in it.
Here is another way how to make slime.
  1. Get a bowl/small
  2. Get some glue
  3. Put a little bit of water in but put enough in it so that it can mix I guess.
  4. Start mixing
  5. Put in your activator and start mixing again
  6. Watch your slime form
I really wouldn't do this type of slime though because it makes a jiggly slime and after about a day or so it gets all gross and when you rip the slime you can't put it back together again which is bad.

You don't have to make a slime of you don't want to but please don't forget to comment and give feedback so that I can change any mistakes in here or if you know what I could of added in and what other slimes I could put it in.
Thank you
Bye

Skittles

Skittles

Hi guys and welcome back to another blog post for today. Today I will be talking about the skittle experiment and how it went when doing it. I had a fun time doing it and it was really fun to watch as the colours stayed where we had put them. The colours didn't mix until Khaylanie had moved it to take a picture when all she really needed to do is move her chromebook.

Materials
  1. Petrie dish
  2. skittles
  3. Tap water
Steps to your experiment
  1. Get your petrie dish ready
  2. Open up your bag of skittles and put up to 5 or 6 skittles
  3. Put them into your dish the same length between them so that you can see the colours go into the middle
  4. Pour your water in and watch your experiment of skittles form into action.
Here are some photos that my friend khaylanie sent me for this

Conclusion
I really enjoyed making this new experiment. What I learnt is that when the colour from the skittles came out they didn't mix when I thought that they would of. When we moved the dish then thats when the colours mixed and went into a brown kind of colour which was not pretty. I would love to do this experiment again soon but for now maybe not.

Don't forget to comment and give feedback on this post with the experiment.
Don't forget to come back and visit my blog again
Bye

Rainbow paper.

Rainbow paper

Hi guys and welcome back to another blog post for this year. Today I will be talking about what we did in science today and what we learnt while doing it.  I had fun doing this experiment and would live to do it again in my own spare time maybe at home.

My aim is to finish as much blog post's from science as I possibly could

Materials:
  1. Filter paper
  2. Water based pens
  3. Clear plastic cup
  4. Water from the tap/room temp

The steps to making it:
  1. Cut up some filter papers
  2. Be ready with some water based felt tip pens and match up a 1 cm on the filter paper on the bottom
  3. Once 1 cm has been made get your pen and make little lines across it
  4. Next you have to put two middle circles on the lines
  5. Pour some water in you cup and watch the transformation
Here are some photos that I took when it was happening
That is what it looks like. I am really happy of how it turned out.

Conclusion

I have learnt that different colours go at different speeds. I have also learnt that  one colour can change the colours that you had previously used and make a colour that you didn't expect to turn. I had a fun time doing this experiment and can't wait to do some more fun experiments. The next experiment that I know we are doing is the skittle experiment. I can't wait to do this experiment and maybe write a blog post about it.

Thank you for reading this blog post.
I will also be doing one about skittles as well.
I think we are doing it in the last period.
Please comment and give feedback on what I could of added in and what needed to be improved.

The kea sculpture

The Kea Sculpture

Hi guys and welcome back to another blog post for this year. Today I will be talking about something that we have been making on Wednesdays for CIP and it has been really fun. The bird that I wanted to make was  a Kakapo but most people voted for the kea so I was a a little mad about that but it has been fun making it. The bird is only a little bit hard depending on how you have, what materials you are using and what part of the bird you are doing.

The wings
I am in the group making the wing. My teacher said that the wings would be the most hardest but I still did it anyway. Other people did do the wings as well and well it didn't go right the first time when we picking a design. We were using a whiteboard marker and a whiteboard table to design a type of wing that we were going to do.

When we were making a wing I just decided to get some cardboard and draw the wing on the cardboard so that we didn't need to keep on saying no and when I had drawn the wing on the cardboard they agreed to do it so that is what we did. I can't really describe what the wing looks like but all I can tell you is that it looks really good.

Thanks for reading this blog post.
please comment and give feedback.
