Hi guys and welcome back to another blog post for this year. Today I will be talking about what I have been doing in the writing part of science. I finished this last week but didn't really get a chance to blog about it. It has a couple of questions about a story that I had read about a woman named Haritina Mogosanu and what it would be like to be able to live on Mars.
What happens at the Mars desert research center?/Summarise
People who were there had to wear spacesuits and helmets when they went outside. Also,
six-person crews stay at the station to learn about what it would be like to live and also to work
on the planet Mars. They spent their time studying geology, biology, and astronomy and also
learning about the challenges of living in a small cramped space with a bunch of other people.
What did Haritina find difficult about being at the research center? Why?
It was difficult because you were there 24/7 and it's a completely different environment.
Also because sometimes it felt scary being in such an unfamiliar place.
Why do you think it is important for astronauts to practice in an environment like this
before heading to space?
Because then they can get used to an environment that they are not used to yet like being in
spacesuits and floating in the spacecraft and also when they would land on mars they can get
used to the different environments that are there.
