Cultural Show

This term we have been looking at different culturs. For the last 3 weeks we have been learning a traditional culture dance. I learnt the sasa.

On Wednesday the 12th of April 2017 the year five's were starting to perform a sasa for some parents. I felt nervous because when I fisrt sat down and saw all of the parants looking at everyone and thought that it would have been scary for them aswell. I had a funny feeling in my tummy. At the end I was Proud that I had done a sasa infront people.

Last Friday Miss Millard and some other teachers with groups came to the beach with us. When we got there we had to put our bags on a log or on the sand and eat or just play. Some people took their shoes off and some people left them on. We got to pick up some shells and keep them and a lot of people got their skin all dirty because they were in the wet sand instead of the dry sand.

Once we had finished at the beach, we walked to the playground. Once we got there, we had something to eat, went on the playground for a little bit. I went on a really, really dizzy thing that just wouldn't let me out. It was really hot there so I thought that if I went on the spider web I would get the dizziness out of me and it did because it wasn't to dizzy.

It was a really long hike which felt like we were in Africa. There were a lot of people in Miss Millard’s group so people were pushing and shoving. We saw some horse poo and it was disgusting. We even saw a dead bird that was almost ripped to pieces. People started to say that they were beginning to get tired so Miss Millard stopped so people could get a rest.

On the bus it was hot and really squishy. The reason it was squishy was because we had to fit three people in a seat when we got in it was really hot. It was really stinky when the heat got hot. When we got back to school I was all tired out and felt a wee bit sick but I was fine. Once we got back to school I felt much better because I wasn't in that stinky, hot squishy bus.

Duathlon

Duathlon

On Thursday the 30th of March we had a Duathlon. We were in our years so the first year was the year fives. Then it was the year six’s and then it was the year ones, twos and threes. The whole school had to run from where the flags started near the gold posts through into the Hornby High School to grab our bikes and scooters and then we had to do a zig zag around the tennis court. I got really tired so I had to stop and catch my breath back and start running again. It was a really good thing because cross country is next week on Thursday the 6th 2017. We had to do two laps of the zig zag court out onto the path and then around our field two times and then we were all finished after we had past the flags. I was tired and my legs were wobbly so I couldn’t stand properly.I kept on falling on my back. Taylor and I were both hot for a while and then I cooled down but Taylor was still hot for 2 min.  Then she had cooled down after those 2 min. Me,Taylor and Jessica were all playing together in the prickly grass.

In Ako Ngatahi we had to write a narrative about a video. It was about a boy opening a present that was a dog with three legs. Here is the video of the present. I hope you enjoy my story.

Golden Puppy

I was playing on my x-box when my mum opened the door. Slam! The door shut and mum had a box for me. She opened the blinds so it was hard for me to see. She almost ruined my game and my sight. I thought about the box that was on the table.I put my controls down and opened the box lids.There was a puppy in the box. The colour was blonde and the eyes were brown. When I saw that the puppy had only three legs it looked so disgusting like a pile of junk. So I threw it away on the floor and it landed on its back. I picked up my controls and stared at the puppy. Then I went back to my game. When it was on it’s back it saw a red shiny ball.It ran to the ball and crashed into the cupboards and opened them a little. The puppy managed to grab the ball and put it by my feet. I kicked it away from me and it landed in the box. The puppy raced after it and got trapped inside it. When the puppy came out the ball wasn't in the box. It came out when the puppy was running inside the box. The puppy saw the ball and ran after it. It squeezed the ball tight with its jaws. It looked at me and put the ball in his mouth and ran to me and sometimes the puppy had dropped the ball and picked it back up to make me laugh. It dropped the ball next to my feet and I picked it up put it in my pockets and got my crutches. I went to the door and opened it a little so the puppy could open the rest of the door. The puppy ran threw my legs and ran threw them again. The puppy went on the grass so I threw the ball away and went after the puppy. I think that Mum had got me a one leg puppy is because I had one leg and I think that in the future we might become bestest of the friends.

Learning Goals

This is my learning goals slide. Its what I have to improve, like I have to improve my writing, reading and math's. These goals are for mastering and moving up to higher stages and not staying on the first. These goals are for improvement and getting brains better at knowledge. I feel great that I will be learning other knowledge everyday.

Cyber Smarts DLO

On Thursday, we went to the high school. There was a man called John Parsons who was talking about being safe online. He showed us some pictures and asked us some questions. After that he had showed us some videos. At the end he had told some jokes. I felt tired as John was speaking but I still listened to what he was saying. When we got back, we had to make a DLO without going onto the internet and finding the pictures. We also had to do the title to say what was not safe to put online.
