Restore our earth

Hi guys and welcome back to another blog post for this year. Today I will be talking about something that we did in wananga called 'Restore our earth' where we had to read a text and answer questions.

  1. Which of the following are not caused by Human activity?

           Volcanos

  • 2015 around 190 countries signed the Paris agreement

  • 2030 salads of petrol and diesel will end in the UK

  • 2019 and area of forest size of a football field  was cut down each year

  • 1970 it began in the us

  1. Find and copy one word which shows that climate change on earth is not caused by Nature? Endangered: At the risk of being extinct.

  1. Fill in the missing words: Trees produce valuable oxygen and help absorb Co2  from the atmosphere.

  1. How much Plastic is currently on earth? about 9 billion tons

  1. Reforestation: Reforestation helps absorb carbon dioxide and helps restore the habitats of many animals.

  1. Widely manufactured: lots of people make it.

  1. Paris agreement: I think they choose to sign the agreement because people want to help make the earth a better, cleaner, and safer place.

  1. Summary: I think that it is very important to restore our world because if climate change starts to change more it would affect our living space and life, and we want our oceans and forests to be clean.

Rising water experiment

Equipment-

Petri dish
Water
Candle
Vase/Cup
Matches or a lighter

Steps-

Get all of your equipment and set it up
Put the candle inside one side of the petri dish (preferably the higher side)
Fill the dish up with water but enough so it doesn't overflow the candle or the sides
Light your candle on fire with either a lighter or matches
Put the cup on top of the candle and watch what happens.

Aim: To see what happens to the water level when the candle is covered.

Hypothesis:

What do you predict will happen? Idk

Results: The water rose when the cup was put on top of the petri dish and the candle blew out and rose too.

What did you see happen in detail? I saw the water rise and the candle blow out.

When you did what? When the candle was lit.

Conclusion/why

In conclusion, the experiment worked well. IdkRising water experiment : Fizzics Education

Samoan Language week

Talofa! The first of June marks beautiful Samoa’s Independence Day and it’s time to celebrate this proud Polynesian nation’s culture and heritage. Samoa is one of the most unique destinations for Pacific island-lovers, and a paradise in which travelers will uncover plenty more than gorgeous white-sand beaches and crystal clear lagoons. In honor of Samoa’s birthday, here are some interesting facts about Samoa.

This country is located in the Pacific Ocean south of the equator. Samoa is located in Oceania.

Samoa belongs to the Polynesian islands. The group of islands lie halfway between Hawaii and New Zealand.

Samoa consists of two main islands called Savaìi and Upolu and several smaller islands and islets.

The largest island of Samoa is Savaìi and the most populated island is Upolu. These islands are of volcanic origin.

About sixty percent of the country is forested.

The highest peak is Mount Silisili, also called Mauga Silisili with a height of 1,858 m/ 6096 ft.

The capital city is called Apia and is home to about 38,000 people.
