AIM: TO LOOK AT CLIMATE CHANGE AND THE GREENHOUSE EFFECT.
THE GREENHOUSE GASES EXPLAINED.
The Greenhouse Effect experiment
Materials
- 1 plastic bottle
- 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda and Citric Acid
- 1 heat lamp
- 1 Thermometer
- 100 ml water
- 1 rubber bung
Procedure
- Come and collect all of the materials from Mr Palmer
- Setting up the lights, bottles, thermometer and bung
- Mr palmer adds the baking soda mix and adds 100ml of water
- Wait for 5 minutes and start recording the temperature
Variables:
All the water added to the bottles was from the classroom tap

Conclusion:
This week we have been learning about climate change and greenhouse gases.
We have also been learning about Fossil fuels and how they are made. Today we did
an experiment with baking soda, and water. We had one bottle with just water and one with water and baking soda. The bottle with the baking soda went up the highest temp was the baking soda bottle.
